The Little Red House, one of the smallest homes on Beach Boulevard, was four houses west of Biloxi Lighthouse.
"It always caught people's attention, especially tourists, and they would frequently stop and ask questions and take pictures," said Jane Tipton, who bought the house three years ago from her parents.
The one-bedroom, 1,000 square-foot house built in 1918 sits on a 29-foot wide lot that is about 500 feet deep, and that, too, makes it unusual.
The house at one time was owned by Capt. Frank Pates, a charter boat owner and poet. The legend told the Tiptons when they bought Little Red House was that the original 1918 owner/builder was an Irishman who didn't manage money well and as his possessions became less he built the tiny house for his wife.
